
Liz Vecenie, LCSW
Liz Vecenie, LCSW, attended Allegheny College and graduated in 2006 with a B.S. in Psychology. She received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008.
Prior to joining Teneral Psychiatry, Liz worked as a clinical social worker at Allegheny Mental Health Associates from 2008-2025. Liz started her career as a social worker at the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (WPIC) from 2008-2011. During her time at WPIC, Liz worked at the Pediatric Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Clinic and then transitioned to working at the Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program at Western Psychiatric. Liz is certified by the Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation Behavior Therapy Training Institute to utilize exposure with response prevention therapy to treat OCD. Liz uses Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Inference Based CBT (ICBT) as treatment options for OCD. She uses an integrative approach, using multiple treatment modalities, to help clients with their presenting issue(s).
Liz's primary clinical interest is treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder. Liz enjoys helping clients learn how to manage other anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, ADHD, and helping clients navigate life changes and/or significant stressors. She enjoys working with young adults and adults to help them meet their treatment goals. At this time, Liz is able to accept Highmark, UPMC, United, and Aetna insurance and meets with clients virtually.
